“Today I got up before Barbara and I went to the stores with Daddy. When we got back we ate and then we all walked up the creek. There were 3 boys walking in front of us and when we got back to camp they messed around in the creek in front of the camp. They kept watching Bar and I so we went in the tent. Mommy and Daddy went for a walk so we stayed in the tent until they came back. Later Barb and I went swimming.”

“Today I got up at 12:00 o’clock and them I got up and ate about 2 bites of toast and a bite of egg. Then I ironed till about 3:00 and I was listening to the radio Bill bought me. ‘Please Love Me Forever!’ About 6:00 Barbara and I called Larry. Larry said, “Hey red, where are we going tomorrow night?’ and I said I don’t know?? Larry said, ‘Well, I’m going to see you somehow.’ He told me to call him at 8:30 tomorrow morning and I said I’ll still be asleep and he said, ‘Well, you better not be or I’ll come over and get you.’ And I said you better not. He said, ‘Well call me then.’ At night Barbara, her folks and me went to May Lo and got another angel top. It is real cute.

Larry said he can’t go to Disneyland.”

“Today Barbara worked all day. I was in the record store for a long time too. At night, when we went to her house Larry called and we talked to hi for a long time. Then I had to go home. Later on at night I went to Barbara’s house and she said Larry called and he wanted to come over so later, he came over for a while. He had the front of his hair down on his forehead and I cracked up. We played records for a while. Them Larry said he was going to tell the people in there he was married and he said to me, ‘Let’s go to Mexico and get married.’ Then he said he was just kidding. He didn’t have the gas anyway. After Larry left he called again and he told me not to bleach my hair. Larry said he would teach me to drive instead of Ian.

Larry said he would push Barb out of the car and ride around with me and Ian.”

“Today I got up at 6:00 o’clock and I did the ironing. Then we went down to Barbara’s house and Larry called. He told me that I had changed and I said how and he said you’re prettier and I said ‘oh, I don’t know’ and i was turning red. He said he was all over the measles now. He only had the three day measles. So, he said that he was going to Disneyland. Then Barbara and I went down the street. Then we went up to my house and played records. At night, Larry called and I said I was going to put a rinse on my hair and Larry said he would beat my butt if I changed the color and I said, ‘Well, you don’t like red hair’ and he said ‘Well, your hair isn’t red’ and I said ‘Well, what color is it then’ and he said, ‘It’s a pretty color but it’s not red’

Larry’s going to go to Barb’s house and then I am going to go over there.”

“Barbara and I got up and 11:30 and Larry called. He told me his mother thought he had the measles and I said ‘oh no!’ He said he had to go to the hospital to see if he had them. Later on his mother called up and said to me that Larry had them for sure and that even she couldn’t go see him and that Larry wanted my address to write me a letter. So I gave her Barbara’s address cause I didn’t want mommy to know about it.

Barbara and I stayed in our nightgowns all day and we played records and listened to the radio.”

“Today I stayed home most of the day. Then I went out with Mommy and Daddy for a little while. Then I went to Barbara’s house. At night we had a party. Craig, Ronnie, Patty, Sheila, Barbara, Larry, Frank, Sally was there. We had a blast. Barbara’s parents were in the bedroom all the time. When it was time to go home, Larry took them home. I spent the night with Barbara. Larry kissed me while we were dancing and i just melted. When we were outside while everybody was getting in the car, Larry kissed me again. He told me to go down to the beach at 10:00 Sunday. When Larry was sitting in the car, I went around to his side, he put his hand on mind and I held his hand then talked for a few minutes and then he kissed me goodnight.
