Miss Norma’s Diary – August 6, 1960 – “she wanted to run out in the street and jump on his car”

Saturday

“Today Barbara and I went down the street to the shops and then we went down by the M.G.C. Then we decided to go to La Jolla. We went up by Malcolm’s house and his car was there. We fooled around there for a while and then we went down by the water then when we went back up to the bench on the corner. We saw a blue station wagon coming.

. . .We both looked at the license plate number and then we knew it was Loren’s. . .

. . .Barbara started jumping up and down, she wanted to run out in the street and jump on his car. Later on we went home.  At night we went down to the M.G.C. and Loren was there, Barbara and I had gobs of perfume on and when we went up to the office and Loren said, ‘Umm, I smell something.” When Loren wasn’t looking, Barbara and I started cracking up.

. . .Well today when I was at Barbara’s, Mal’s car went by with Mr. and Mrs. Richards in it. Mrs. Richards saw me through the window and she waved. At the Miniature golf course tonight Mrs. Richards said she was looking for us last night because it was their night off and they wanted to take us up to the Clairmont golf course. When she told me that I could have killed Barbara. Also tonight, a boy went by with big muscles and she said, ‘You know Malcolm went in for that for a while,’ and she said he had all kinds of weights.  Amo Mal.” (I Love Mal)
