Miss Norma’s Diary – November 24, 1960 – “I can’t, my folks aren’t home now. But they should be home in about a half hour.”

Thursday

“Today I went up to the movie house for a while then at night I came home and I was all alone untill Connie came over, then later, Dick, Verne, Benny, Duane and Wayne and Verne said, ‘Can we go out by the pool for a while?’ and I said,

‘I can’t, my folks aren’t home now. But they should be home in about a half hour.’

So, they were all mad at me. Then about five minutes later, Daddy called to see if we were all right and if Connie could stay over night. Then after Daddy hung up, somebody else called and Connie answered the phone. It was all the guys and Duane wanted to talk to me and he said, ‘Hey, how come you are trying to get everyone to dislike you?’ I said, ‘I’m not. I couldn’t let you in’ and I said, ‘Right after you left, my Daddy called.’ He said, ‘Well, tough for him’ and I said, ‘Well, that’s tough shit for you because you can go straight to hell’ and I hung up.”
