Miss Norma’s Diary – August 7, 1961 – “At night we went to the drive-in. We sat outside on the benches and we smoked a pack and a half of cigs”

“Today we got up and ate breakfast. Then later we went bowling. We bowled a couple of games and then we went down the street. Sallie asked this girl if it was hot enough for her and she gave her the finger. Then the girl came over to Sallie and she asked her what she said and Sallie said, ‘Is is hot enough for you?’ And the girl called her a queer. So they followed us and we were in a head and we started to leave and that girl wouldn’t let Sharon out so Sharon pushed her out of the way then she pushed back and Sharon pushed harder and walked away. At night we went to the drive-in. We sat outside on the benches and we smoked a pack and a half of cigs.”

Miss Norma’s Diary – August 1, 1961 – “When we went by the bowling alley I said, ‘If Ralph came out of there now, I think I’d die.’ “

Tuesday

“Today I cleaned up my room. Later we went down the street. When we went by the bowling alley I said, ‘If Ralph came out of there now, I think I’d die.’ Well, he did come out of there but I’m still alive. When he came out he was with Barry . All day Barb and I were walking by the B.A. Then we saw Ralph in there again and he watched us walk by.

At night we went down to Barbara‘s.”

Miss Norma’s Diary – December 9, 1960 – “I wanted to sit behind him in the show but there wasn’t any seats.”

Friday

“Today I went to school and after school I went to the beauty shop with Barb. At night we went to the show. We were standing at the door and Warren walked by me and smiled. I wanted to sit behind him in the show but there wasn’t any seats. Verne and Connie, Butch, Wayne, Carol & Brian and Benny was there. Then later, Sonny and that other guy came. For a while, Benny was sitting with me but Barb kept talking about Warren so Benny got jealous and we sat with Bob. Later, Ben said he was going to get the (crop?) from Connie but she wouldn’t give it to him but he got it later only Connie threw them on the floor and Ben couldn’t find it.

Warren must have left before the show was over because I couldn’t find him.

Sonny came over and talked to us and he asked us if we were going to come to the show tomorrow.”
